Metro Extension works – Paradise Circus closure diversion details

August 30, 2018 Off By Stu

The extension of the Midland Metro to Broad Street and Centenary Square is expected to be open for service in late 2019. The second phase of the route, expected to open in 2021, will continue to Edgbaston.

From Monday 3 September Paradise Circus will be closed to traffic in both directions. Please plan your journey and avoid driving into the city centre whenever possible.

During construction, businesses and venues on Broad Street and the surrounding area remain open and ready to welcome you as usual.

Bus service diversions

These works are expected to last until summer 2019, and will involve the closure of Paradise Circus, with some sections of Broad Street and Suffolk Street Queensway also closed to traffic.

Please be aware that the A38 underpass that runs underneath Paradise Circus will remain open in both directions.

Throughout this period some services will be diverted or have amendments made to bus stop locations. These diversions may also cause some journey times to be extended.
