New improved Community discussion forum

Late last year, I had an ambitious vision to expand the scope of my West Midlands Bus Users website to incorporate a community ‘discussion’ forum, for bus users to engage with each other to discuss concerns about their local bus services and to work together to find solutions and make suggestions and offer feedback which could be passed to local bus operators and transport organisations.

My initial attempt was in my own opinion very disappointing, with the lack of take-up and member involvement, as well as some issues I had with the solution that I had implemented.

With a bit of time on my hands recently, and with a lack of people using buses at present, as well as bus services being stripped to a minimum level, it seems like an odd moment to rip out what I had put in place and start afresh, but in a way, it seemed like an ideal time to do so, knowing full well that perhaps within a matter of weeks, everything can return to some level of normality, and people in general will start travelling by bus again with some level of confidence.

For those of you who took the time to sign up and register for the ‘old’ Community Forum here, I sincerely apologise for the fact that you will need to register again. But I do believe that this new platform I am using will be worth it in the long term, and I hope this doesn’t inconvenience anyone too much.

So while we wait for things to return to some kind of normality, if anyone does have any questions, comments, suggestions, feedback or anything else related to bus services in the West Midlands, please do feel free to sign up to the new Community Forum here and ‘have your say’, and please do also share with anyone else you know who might find this useful.

In the meantime, I’ll continue to provide regular opinion pieces and important updates on this website, but moving forward I’d like to see more bus users in the West Midlands contributing important content to the Community Forum, because I can’t do this all by myself, and we all have to come together and help each other out.
