Proposals to transform bus services in the West Midlands – The Enhanced Partnership Plan and Scheme
We’d like to hear your views on our proposals to improve bus services across the West Midlands through an Enhanced Partnership Plan and Scheme.
Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) is bringing together local authorities and bus operators in an Enhanced Partnership (EP) to develop a coordinated approach to improve bus travel in the West Midlands. This will help all partners involved to achieve the ambition to deliver a world-class integrated transport system which is clean, safe and affordable.
The Enhanced Partnership Plan and Scheme
In June 2019, the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) gave approval for TfWM to proceed with the development of an Enhanced Partnership Plan (EP Plan), setting out our vision for bus improvements in the region.
Alongside the EP Plan we have developed an initial Enhanced Partnership Scheme (The EP Scheme) detailing the proposed improvements to bus travel needed to deliver the vision. Our initial EP Scheme will improve standards along the A34 (north), A45 and Lode Lane Corridors. The aim of the Scheme is to provide a more enjoyable, reliable and safer travel experience as well as quicker journeys along these Corridors.
The EP Plan and accompanying EP Scheme have been prepared in partnership with local authorities, local bus operators and West Midlands Combined Authority as well as other interested stakeholders, including passenger groups, industry and business.
A summary of our proposals can be found in the consultation booklet located in the Resources Section below. For more detail please read the EP Plan and Scheme, also found in the Resources Section.
More details, including links to the survey and resource documents can be found at the TfWM website.
